Week 7 - Website Layout

 

Week 7 

Lecture - Learned about the goals of a website layout. Firstly, is about the visual hierarchy. Secondly, is about reading the pattern. Third, abouve the fold. Fourth, grid system. Fifth, white space. 

    Today our class also having the Flip Group Presentation from Group 6. The group have presented their own favourite website designers / studio which is Brandripe, Karuna, Fictionist Studio and Asterisk Design Studio. They have been provided a few Q&A questions. Below here shows their questions and answers :

    1. Which portfolio that you like the most for Fictionist Studio?

    A: I like the packaging design because the design has variety styles, we can learn a lot from it.

    2. For Asterisk Design Studio, what do you think of the design of their company?

    A: For their website design, I think is demon style and dark style. This is the thing I like, because it is quite clean and neat for audience to read.

    3. Other tha your chosen design studio, which of theses design studios would you get inspiration for your web design assigment? 

    A: I would choose Asterik Design Studio because the dark style that I want to use in my website assigment because it looks like a high-quality website design that fit for the website industry standard.

    4. If you are TARUMT internal staff and wanted to change the campus logo, which design company would you choose and why?

    A: If I were the TARUMT internal staff and wanted to change the campus logo, I would choose the Karuna company because I think the design of this company is more interesting and colourful compared to the other.

Tutorial and Practical - This week, I will need to create a flowcharts, skectches, wireframes and mockups about how I want my website design to look like. So I sketch some ideas and look for the reference that I like and study about the designs.
